The Tisch Family Zoological Gardens
This location is also known as the Biblical Zoo in Jerusalem and is definitely an attraction that you should check out if you’re in the area. If you’re staying in a neighboring area it’s definitely worth a short trip there. As a matter of fact, the location is considered the second most popular tourist attraction in the country, the first one being Masada.
It is the home of over 2000 species of different animals including mammals, fish, amphibians, bird life and reptiles. Those that like lemurs should have a fun time in Lemur Land while fish lovers can have a blast at the West Side Story aquatic pavilion.
Zoological Center of Tel Aviv-Ramat Gan Safari
This is another very popular tourist location in the country, and it’s actually the next in the list after the Tisch gardens. This zoo deserves its position thanks to the vast number of intriguing and exciting exhibits that it has, such as the elephants or the hippos. You can also see different type of monkeys like orangutans and gorillas but also chimpanzees. It’s bigger than the previous location, spreading across a 250 acre location.
Coral World Underwater Observatory in Eilat
This one is for those that enjoy admiring aquatic life more, as the name should have made it pretty obvious. It’s actually the first observatory of its kind in the world, and it displays aquatic life from the Red Sea. If you go there you will be able to see shark tank feeding but also more friendly animals like turtles. Their special pools allow visitors to see turtles and stingrays and they paddle away. Aside from animals, you can also check out a beautiful coral colony.
Dolphin Reef, also in Eilat
If you’ve had your fill of exotic animals and intriguing species that you’ve never seen before, be sure to also drop by the Dolphin Reef. It’s pretty obvious what you can see here. You can get on a wharf and float away in the company of dolphins. You can even dive in for a swim yourself, as there are swimming and snorkeling programs here too.
Alpaca Farm in Mitzpeh Ramon
Moving away from the aquatic theme for a bit, you can check out the alpaca farm. This is a wonderful location where you can see beautiful little alpacas do their thing. To be more specific, you get to see the 400 llamas and alpacas in the herd as you can mingle with the mini-camels.
