1. The Cowboy Trail, Alberta

2. The Sea to Sky Highway, British Columbia

BC Highway 99 is also known as the Sea to Sky Highway. It runs for 95 miles from Vancouver to Whistler, taking you from the coast to the mountains. Soak up the marvelous views from Howe Sound. Hike the Shannon Falls. Ride the Sea-to-Sky Gondola. Admire the vistas from the Tantalus Range Lookout. The route features an abundance of natural and cultural places of interest.

Watch moose roaming freely in Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Take a boat ride from Pleasant Bay to spot whales and seals. Play a round or two at Highlands Links Golf Course. Stroll along coastal cliff tops and across sandy beaches.

5. The Viking Trail, Newfoundland and Labrador

The Viking Trail is one of the best road trips around Canada’s Newfoundland and Labrador for history and heritage enthusiasts. There are also plenty of cultural and natural sites to enjoy too. It runs for a little over 300 miles. You can visit two UNESCO-listed sites along the way: Gros Morne National Park and L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site. You’ll also pass the tallest lighthouse along Canada’s Atlantic coast.
