Madrid is a city that exudes life — so full of energy that it can put gazelles to shame. People here know how to live life, and it is explicitly conveyed through the activities, events, places and people of the Spanish capital. The same reason why one of the most celebrated festivals in the world, the San Isidro festival, which just concluded, is very close to the city’s culture and traditions. With music, dance, art and culture being an integral part of Europe’s most passionate city, the festival embodies what the city believes in, which is living life to the fullest.

Called ‘fiesta’ in Madrid, it fills the streets with people in traditional costumes called ‘chulapos’, or ‘goyescos’ as they dance and sway to traditional beats and music called ‘chotis’. The most famous occasion of the San Isidro Festival is the bullfighting festival held in Las Ventas, which plays host to the most famous bullfighting names in the world. The game gives a rush like no other and people look forward to the clash between the matadors and the mighty bulls with much anticipation
