Travel Photo of the Week — Water Buffalo Evil Eye

Posted by - September 29, 2011 | Category: Asia, Escapes, Vietnam

Sapa, Vietnam

Last week I did a day trek in Sapa, Vietnam and I managed to get up close with this protective mother.  A little too close for her liking.

She gave me the evil eye from the moment she saw me, then peppered it with a growl just so I got the message.

Water buffalo and calf, Sapa Vietnam

Water Buffalo growling, Sapa Vietnam

Water buffalo with baby calf, Sapa Vietnam

You don’t mess with a water buffalo and her calf.

    1. It was cold when I was there — and VERY foggy most days. I can’t imagine being there in January.

BTW, I’m reading ‘Swept’ right now — love, love, LOVE it! 🙂

  1. My wife and I are taking the kids to Vietnam, Cambodia & Thailand next May and will be be away from home for about 5 weeks. We have been to Thailand before but never to Vietnam or Cambodia, so we are very excited!!

  2. She really looks angry! You should stay away from creatures with their new born ones, they are very aggressive…
    Nicely captured pic.
    Have a fabulous week ahead:)

  5. I wanna say too that she really looks angry. 1 should stay away from creatures with their new born types, they are very aggressive. Properly captured, can see fire in her eyes.
