I saw these machines just outside the USS Missouri battleship memorial in Pearl Harbour. I loved the imagery taken from a bygone era. Rosie the Riveter hawking water — you know it has to be pretty darn good.
More on Hawaii next week when I am back home…

Love it — great symbol of the strength of women! I’ve got that image on a coffee cup that my aunt gave me. She was one of the gals from that time. Still have to get to Pearl Harbor. I was booked on a flight to go there on 9/11. Tragic irony.

I saw a woman once that had Rosie the Riveter tattooed on her arm. A bit hardcore, but it’s better than having something like Super Mario tattooed on there.
Great photo – and great water machines!

It really is an eye catcher…
Not to be a wet blanket, but am I the only one who thinks using Rosie the Riveter to sell water is a little, um, distasteful.
Good god, I do sound like a wet blanket.
I thought that the image was sort of appealing, but you’re right, it is kinda like Uncle Sam selling Dr. Pepper…
Yeah that is really a cool water machine. the ideas is really superb though.
