Travel Photo of the Week — Supporting the Troops: USS Missouri, Pearl Harbour, Hawaii

Posted by - June 16, 2011 | Category: Escapes, North America, United States

I saw these machines just outside the USS Missouri battleship memorial in Pearl Harbour.  I loved the imagery taken from a bygone era.  Rosie the Riveter hawking water — you know it has to be pretty darn good.

More on Hawaii next week when I am back home…

  1. Love it — great symbol of the strength of women! I’ve got that image on a coffee cup that my aunt gave me. She was one of the gals from that time. Still have to get to Pearl Harbor. I was booked on a flight to go there on 9/11. Tragic irony.

    1. I saw a woman once that had Rosie the Riveter tattooed on her arm. A bit hardcore, but it’s better than having something like Super Mario tattooed on there. 🙂
